Dreamhomes Vancouver Island Group helped host a fundraising evening at the Nanoose Bay Cafe to raise awareness about the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation.

Shannon McRae of Nanaimo, BC was the recipient of $50,000 from The Dream Home Project, an initiative setup by Karen Kenyon and Simon Phillips to help a First Time Home Buyer get onto the property ladder. Not long after receiving the money, we’re happy to report that Shannon and her daughter managed to successfully purchase their first home.

The Global Pandemic and other issues at the time made it more difficult than ever for First Time Home Buyers to get onto the property ladder. This resulted in Karen Kenyon and Simon Phillips starting an initiative called The Dream Home Project which aimed to assist a local person or family purchase their first home by gifting them $50,000 towards their downpayment.
